2023 election: INEC registers 8.5 million new voters so far

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that the number of fresh registrants in the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) hit 8,855,996 as at May 2.

The commission disclosed this on Thursday, May 5, 2022 in Abuja. 

The weekly update for Quarter Four, Week Three equally indicated that no fewer than 5,415,619 Nigerians have done fully their registration.

Those who did online registration totalled 2,379,063, while 3,036,556 did physical registration.

Those who completed theirs include 45,412 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) and 3,745,129 youths.

Also on voters transfer, replacement of PVC and change of information,  INEC has received 15,789,718 applications.
