Abia 2023: Ogah seeks APC gubernatorial ticket, speaks on blueprints

The Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah, on Friday officially declared his intent to stand for nomination as the standard bearer of the All Progressive Congress in build up to the general elections in Nigeria come 2023.

The declaration comes on the heels of clarion calls by several political stakeholders and socio-cutural and political groups on the Minister to join the 2023 Abia gubernatorial seat race, and hinged their calls on the sterling leaderhsip qualities of the latter in the private sector and as Abia representative in the federal Executive Council (FEC) heading the  Mines and Steel Development ministry in Abuja.

This was made known in a release issued on Saturday, by Chima Obiwuru of the media directorate of Abia Rejoice Movement, the political structure of the minister and governorship hopeful, Uche Ogah.

Addressing enlarged gathering of APC leaders, stakeholders and his teeming supporters at the  state party secretriate at Azikee Road in Umuahia, the Abia capital, when he visited and informed them his intention to run for the position of the Governor of Abia State in the upcoming 2023 general elections, Ogah maintained that he possessed the wherewithal to rewrite the narratives of  governance in the state owing to his unfurl experience garnered and remarked that it placed him in pole position to lead the government of Abia State.

The ebillient Minister of State flanked by his wife, Dr (Mrs) Ngozi Ogah, regaled to party members and the people of Abia state who largely trooped out  during his visit cum declaration ceremony on his life in private workforce and the journey to entrepreneurship, said also that he had been able to create massive employment to Nigerians and even becoming the largest employer of labour in Abia state through his business conglomerates, Masters Energy Group.

Ogah also pointed ou that he is focused on the transformation of the economy of the state with creation job for Abia people through private sector driven initiatives.

According to the governorship hopeful in his words “Nigeria is blessed with many natural resources that if we harness them less emphasis will be placed in the oil sector and our country will not play a second fiddle in the world.

“I will bring my experience in the private and public sector to bring valuable changes in lives of Abia people.

“My adminstration will be anochered on faith in God and social transformation in governance which will transform  the economic, agricultural, educational, security and health sector of the state.

“I want to reinvent the dreams of our founding fathers of Abia where the rule of law shall thrive and we will reintroduce the agricultural revolution of the former Eastner region that made the economy of that region one of the fastest growing economy in world”.
