Abia 2023: Group to purchase N50m APC nomination forms for Ogah

In a bid to enthrone the needed and desired change in Abia State, tilted  at ensuring the dividends of democracy is brought to the doorsteps of people, a pressure group, Rescue Abia With Ogah, has formalized arrangement to purchase the fifty million naira (N50m) Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of the All Progressive Congress for the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah, to run for the seat of Governor of Abia State in 2023 general election.

This was disclosed in a release by the spokesperson of the socio-political group, Wisdom Maduforo, made available to newsmen in Umuahia on Sunday.

The Abia group stated that her members have commenced financial contributions to ensure that the governorship forms are purchased this new week ahead of the primary election of the governing party in Nigeria.

It also disclosed that is membered by successful industralists of Abia origin, who had made clarion call and several appeals on Ogah to join 2023 Abia governorship in order to address the myriads of challenges impeding the socio-economic and Infrastructural development of the state.

“The group was established in 2014 as Rescue Abia Mission and later converted to Rescue Abia With Ogah by 2018, and is made up of Abia illustrious sons and industrialists who can take up the financial implications of Uche Ogah’s election to its logical conclusion”.

The political umbrella reiterated its resolve and committment to ensuring educated businessman is elected to steer the helms of affairs of Abia state, positing that Abia which stood as a commercial nerve centre of the old eastern region is brought back to its full glory and as well, given an economic facelifts.

Meanwhile, on the heels of numerous calls and appeals on him to contest the governorship seat of Abia state in the upcoming general election in 2023, by critical stakeholders and socio-cultural and political groups in the state and diaspora, the ebullient Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uche Ogah, earlier this month, declared that he would contest the governorship seat of the State on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

He announced this known in a live radio phone-in programme anchored in Umuahia, the state capital.

Ogah partly said, “I’m the face of APC in Abia State, the bride of the people in the State, and anybody can use me to sell his party, which happens all the time”.
