Osinbajo’s declaration for president offers voters fresh insight – HURIWA

Must read

Prominent Civil Rights Advocacy group:- HUMAN RIGHTS WRITERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (HURIWA) has welcomed the decision by the vice president Professor Yemi Osinbajo to publicly declare to succeed his boss because according to the Rights group his availability offers Nigerian voters a fresh insight into the administration.

“We in the civil Rights and Human rights advocacy community in Nigeria believe that the decision by vice president Professor Yemi Osinbanjo to declare to run for the topmost position in Nigeria signposts that there are very many areas that his stay in government as the number two citizen could’nt be satisfactorily attended to or that he has the secrets to untangling some of those bad policies that this administration unfolded before Nigerians that failed to lift us to our better selves. So contrary to the adversarial comments trailing his declaration, HURIWA is hereby appealing to Nigerians to give the Vice President a hearing chance to offer us a rare insight into how an administration that had a lot of goodwill, ended up squandering this goodwill at the altar of religious bigotry, nepotistic and one-sided appointments of only Fulani Moslems to hold strategic national security appointments and yet to have succeeded in turning the home region of these security chiefs which is North West of Nigeria into a war zone. We believe that if the VP successfully dethrones his political godfather Senator BolaAhmed Tinubu and win the ticket of his political party, the voters will have the best opportunities of our lifetime to learn hard lessons how not to govern a multi Ethnic and multi religiously diverse nation like Nigeria. We think his winning the ticket may offer Nigerians a beautiful opportunity for perfect pay back, a sweet revenge by sending to him the message that he served as the Vice president to a President that created more divisions than he met them”.

“We will gladly be available to host the vice president to public debates so he can very well offer us those insights and also unveil to Nigerians the other secret codes he may have evolved to untangle the critical economic and infrastructural problems that have successfully wrestled Nigeria to the ground and have made Nigeria the home to the largest population of absolutely poor people in the world to such a ridiculous extent that at one time in 2018, Nigeria overthrew India as the home of the largest poor people globally with over 90 million of our people who can’t afford three quality square meals per day.”

“The entry of the Vice President into the presidential race should be seen as an opportunity to get first hand information from the man who presumably may have seen it all to inform Nigerians why the administration literally took Nigeria and Nigerians from top to bottom in all areas of our National life including economy, security, social welfare and external indebtedness.”

HURIWA recalled that in stepping into the fray to run for the office of President to succeed his boss, the current Vice president had stated thus: “For the past seven (7) years, I have served as Vice President under a true Nigerian patriot, President Muhammadu Buhari.
In these 7 years, while on the train of duty and service, I traversed every part of our country, meeting Nigerians of every cadre, class, tribe and walks of life, both young and old; I MET YOU.

I’ve stood where you stand and sat where you sit. I know and I understand our hopes, aspirations and fears from a place of relatable proximity; and I believe that in those hopes and aspirations are the seeds for the great Nigeria that we all desire.

I believe that the very reason why the Almighty God gave me these experiences, these insights, and these opportunities, is that they must be put to the use of our country and its great peoples.

This is why today, with utmost humility, I formally declare my intention to run for the office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress.

I also most solemnly and respectfully seek your support as fellow Nigerians everywhere in this land and the diaspora, as we embark on this great and exciting journey that lies ahead of us.”

HURIWA however thinks that since he now wants to succeed his boss, there are areas and milestones that have been left untouched and that this is a signal that the Vice President is unsatisfied by the performance that both himself and his boss have offered to Nigerians which is why he now wants to repeat a tenure or two to be able to realise those unachievable milestones.
