The Senate Chief Whip, and Former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has reacted to the Nigerian super Eagle’s loss in the qualifying match to Ghana.
AFRIPOST recalls that Nigeria failed to qualify for Qatar 2022 after playing a 1-1 draw with the black stars of Ghana at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday.
Reacting, Senator Orji Kalu, in a statement on Friday, lamented the Super Eagle’s loss and called for complete overhauling of the management of Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
He regretted that the management of the football federation has exhibited incompetence in handling the nation’s soccer in the past five years, insisting that time is now for a total overhaul of the NFF.
According to the former governor, “what a sad night for all soccer lovers! It is the time the entire management of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) is overhauled.
“In the past five years, we have exercised patience with incompetence that should ordinarily be the best, not just in Africa, but the world.
“The reality is that football is the same with science courses like Medicine and Engineering where you can’t cut corners, otherwise, you produce quack and incompetent people.
“The Federal Government and Nigerians have supported the NFF beyond measures and since they can’t give us the needed result, they should be sacked for a better and more tactical management”, Kalu submitted.
