Osun PDP Adhoc Congress: Ademola Adeleke’s Camp Coasts to Victory*

Results from the Adhoc ward Congress within Osun PDP are already emerging and clear indications point to a clear open victory for the political camp of Senator Ademola Adeleke, a frontline governorship aspirant of the party.

With over two-third of the results from the 332 wards across Osun state, the Imole camp has recorded overwhelming lead from across the three senatorial districts.

In Osun West, Adeleke camp emerged victorious in virtually all the 10 local governments while election materials were snacthed by political thugs loyal to another aspirant in his home local government.

In Osun East, similar sweeping successes were recorded by the Imole group even with a local government within Ifeland where political thugs loyal to another aspirant hijacked election materials even before election officials reached the council area.

The Osun Central results also largely favoured the Imole camp from Ila to Osogbo among others.

Despite reports of imported thugs and voters, PDP members trooped out in large numbers to cast and defend their votes. It was gathered that the space was too hot for any imported thug to play any drama.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the adhoc Congress, Governor Umar Fintiri went round some of the local governments and expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise.

He also ensured transparency by granting each aspirant two representatives to ne part of the election monitoring team addressing situations all over the state.

The committee is now currently collating the results for official announcements and onward transmission to the national office of the party.

Each of the political camp, however, operated a situation room and reports so far confirmed that the Adeleke camp has solidified its position with more than two-third of the 900 plus Adhoc delegates elected today.

It was earlier reported that the Adeleke group already have the majority of plegded statutory votes from across the local governments in the state.

Senator Adeleke had conducted a tour of the nine federal constituencies during which delegates pledged their support.

The Senator was the only aspirant to have embarked on such popularity testing exercise.

Meanwhile, Senator Adeleke has urged party men and women to remain united as it is a case of no victor no vanquished.

Speaking with our reporter at his country home Ede, Senator Adeleke said the ward congress validated the popularity of the PDP among the voters.

“I appeal for unity, peace and brotherhood. We are one big family. Now is the time for us to sustain the tempo of unity in the best interest of the party and suffering people of Osun state.

“There is no victor, no vanquished. We are all victorious. I remain committed to reconciliation and peace drive by our elders and party leadership”, Adeleke said.
