The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum( AYCF), has decried the murder of Northerners resident in Abia State, tagging it “bad news.”
A statement issued by Yerima Shettima, its National President said, “As a group, we are still deeply concerned about the murder of Northerners resident in Abia, who were doing legitimate businesses.”
He said his group was worried about the report that scores of others sustained various degrees of injury and have now been hospitalized.
The group further condemned the incident in totality.
It, however, commended the prompt response of security agencies and the Abia State Government for going after the killers and rushing the injured ones to the hospital.
The forum urged the Abia State Government to pursue its promise to bring the killers to book, in the spirit of national unity and stability.
The AYCF said it would be following closely the efforts of the Abia State Government to fulfill its promise of providing compensation to the families and survivors of the attack.
He said in the spirit of national unity and stability, the incident should be the last bad news coming from the southeast.
