FAMILY BACKGROUND
Hon. Audi Haruna Shekwolo was born into the family of Mr and Mrs. Haruna Panyadabe Audi in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council. His father was a farmer but he made sure his son didn’t only learn his craft but ensure that his son, Shekwolo, had western education. Shekwolo’s journey as a businessman started a long time ago after his secondary education were he was involved in bricklaying, canoeing, carpentry and he started a block industry.
He made great strides as a young man, this saw him becoming the youngest person in Ushafa to build a canoe and was one of the youngest to build a house within his community.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Shekwolo started his education at LEA Primary School, Ushafa. He attended Government Secondary School, Idda in Kaduna State, where he got his SSCE in 1999.
He had his tertiary education at Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, where he obtained his National Diploma in Estate Management. He then went to further his studies in Kaduna Polytechnic, where he obtained his Higher National Diploma in Estate Management. He did his NYSC at Iwo LGA, Osun State. He is married to Mrs. Lydia Shekwolo and they are blessed with three children; two male and female children. He got an employment with the FCT Area Council Service Commission and was posted to Bwari Area Council under the Works Department where he worked from 2009 to 2021.
Shekwolo is known by all as a man of the people and he does business with people all over the country. He doesn’t discriminate and it is for this reason that the Igbos named him Chukwudi.
POLITICAL CAREER
Shekwolo was meritoriously appointed Supervisory Councilor for Environment and Sanitation by the then Bwari Area Council’s Chairman, Hon Musa Dikko from 2016 to 2019. In April, 2021, Hon. Audi Haruna Shekwolo became the Flag Bearer of the All Progressives Congress for the Chairmanship candidate of Bwari Area Council, February, 12, 2022 FCT Area Councils’ Elections.
Shekwolo has touched lives with his philanthropic activities. Shekwolo is not just a successful politician but a top notch business man with fleets of businesses; He is the Chairman and owner of WSG Hills Hotel Ushafa. He is the Chairman and CEO of Audi and Partners Real Estate Management Limited, Abuja. He is the Chairman and Founder of Shekwolo Block Industries Limited, Ushafa.
Hon. Audi Haruna Shekwolo has a blue print that will take Bwari Area Council to greater heights. He obviously is the right man for this job.

Hon. Audi Haruna Shekwolo is carrying out a people’s oriented campaign because he does not want to be that leader that wouldn’t care for the welfarism of the people. For him, it is the good of Bwari Area Council first before any other thing. It is for this reason, that he will be transparent from day one till the very end. In his words, “It isn’t about me but what we can achieve together.”
HON. SHEKWOLO’S BLUEPRINT FOR A BETTER BWARI AREA COUNCIL:
SECURITY
Insecurity is the greatest challenge confronting our nation today. there is palpable fear in the air and Bwari Area Council is not exempted. There has been reported cases of abductions and kidnappings in Sabon Gari, Tokulo, Shere and environs. Though I am aware that the issue of security falls squarely under the purview of the Federal Government, as Chairman of Bwari Area Council, we shall fashion out a security architecture that will guarantee that the residents of the council go about their businesses without let or hinderance.
EDUCATION
It is so appalling and a shame that the outgoing administration of Hon. Gabaya John has not given education the attention it deserves. Education is the fulcrum upon which societies develop. An ignorant society is a society whose citizens are not educated. A society of enlightened people will naturally experience progress and development. Aware of the importance of education, particularly in the 21st century, my administration shall as a matter of policy, institute a scholarship scheme that will see to the needs of indigents specially gifted students in specialized areas like; sciences, engineering, and medicine and sponsor them.We shall carry out massive renovation of our primary schools as well as junior secondary schools and also provide them with instructional and learning materials. Where there is need to build more classrooms to cater for increasing number of pupils enrollment shall gladly to that. We shall ensure that a situation where pupils are made to sit on the floor, sometimes under the tree to learn is consigned to the dustbin of history.
HEALTH
A healthy nation is a wealthy nation, so goes the adage. Health care shall be given a high premium. A situation where our clinics have ben reduced. To mere consulting centers is unacceptable. Our clinics shall be upgraded and equipped with modern equipment to meet the health needs of our people. A deliberate effort shall be made to ensure that at least, there is qualified medical doctor in our clinics. There shall be aggressive sensitization program to educate residents of the council on the need to keep our environment clean as this will go a long way in reducing outbreaks of diseases.
STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENTS
I cannot claim monopoly of knowledge or even attempt to assume that I know it all. I will ensure that will be quarterly stakeholders meeting where residents shall meet to brainstorm and rob minds on how to move the council in the path of progress and development. Stakeholders’ suggestions and advice shall be the spring board upon which our developmental agenda shall be anchored.
TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS
The call for our traditional rulers to be assigned specific roles in the constitution has become deafening now. Realising that this call is a constitutional matter, my administration shall nonetheless engage and involve our traditional leaders in governance of the council. We shall periodically meet the leadership of the traditional rulers in the council to tap from their wealth of wisdom.
RELIGIOUS HARMONY
Conscious effort shall be made to improve and enhance religious harmony in the council. We shall periodically. Meet with leadership of the two main religion to foster interreligious harmony in the council.
AGRICULTURE
Nigeria is largely a mono-economy. The country has relied largely on crude oil and with the dwindling oil prices at the international market, Nigeria has been affected badly hence the need for alternative source of revenue. One of the most viable options of revenue generation is through Agriculture. We shall make deliberate efforts to ensure that our farmers are taught and trained on mechanized farming. We shall also procure modern farming implements and equipment to ensure increased yield. We shall encourage and enlighten our youths on the benefits and advantages that abound in agriculture. Agriculture is a gold mine that is waiting for exploration and instead of our youths waiting for white collar jobs, they shall get involved in agriculture big time. They shall be trained on modern and mechanized methods of farming and at the end of their training start up capital shall be given to them. Fertilizer shall be procured and sold to farmers at a discount rate. My administration shall ensure that fertilizer truly and actually gets to our farmers.
RURAL ELECTIRFICATION
Most villages in Bwari Area Council are without electricity in the 21st century. It is rather appalling than sad. Electricity is a catalyst for economic prosperity. My administration shall partner with Rural Electrification Agency to get these villages and communities electrified. Where it is difficult to get these communities connected to the national grid, my administration will explore other sources of electricity to ensure that the communities are lightened up.
ACCESS TO CLEAN AND SAFE WATER
The importance of water cannot be overemphasized. In conjunction with FCT Water Board, communities without clean and safe water shall be provided with it. Where it becomes difficult to get the FCT Water Board to provide these communities with clean and safe water, my administration shall drill solar powered boreholes for these communities. Providing safe clean water will no doubt prevent water related illnesses.
RURAL ROADS
Good road network enhances mobility of goods and services from one point to the other. My administration shall ensure that rural roads are upgraded to make them good for agricultural products to be transported from the hinterland to the urban centers thereby increasing and enhancing the economic fortunes of our rural farmers. Great people of Bwari Area Council, it is our duty to ensure that Bwari becomes the pride of Abuja and Nigeria. We should choose wisely; let us choose Hon. Audi Haruna Shekwolo- the man of the people.
