UPDATED: Och’Idoma wades into Owukpa crisis, invites stakeholders

Idoma Area Traditional Council has waded into the Owukpa District crisis with the aim of taking a decisive action to end the disagreement among Owukpa people.

AFRIPOST recalls that a group of persons from Ehaje had dragged three clans of Itabono to court allegedly demanding changes in the existing clans and rotation of Onomo stool in Owukpa.

The development was contained in a letter titled, “RE: REPORT OF CRISIS IN OWUKPA” dated July 27, 2021 and signed by the Secretary, Idoma Area Traditional Council, Adegbe Uloko for the Chairman, Idoma Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Agabaidu, Dr. Elias Ikoyi Obekpa and sighted by AFRIPOST on Monday.

The letter addressed to the Owukpa National Leader, Chief Mathias Abutu, Ad’Ogbadibo, Chief Emmanuel Odeh and the Acting Onomo of Owukpa, Chief Lawrence Agbo Abah directed all Owukpa stakeholders to be in attendance at the Och’Idoma Palace by 10am on 6th August, 2021 to enable the Palace take a decisive action to end the matter.
