Immediate past Senate President and a former governor of Kwara State, Senator (Dr) Bukola Saraki has commended and congratulated Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) states governors on their effort towards rebuilding and repositioning the party.
The governors held a meeting in Makurdi, the Benue State capital on Friday.
Expressing satisfaction over the meeting’s attendance and agreements reached, Saraki said on his official Facebook page, “Yesterday, PDP Governors held a meeting in Makurdi in which 14 out of the 15 Governors elected on the party’s platform attended. In all, the meeting was very successful both in attendance and the substance of their discussions and the agreements that were reached.
“I am impressed by the action of our party’s governors — and I commend and congratulate these leaders of our great party.
“Their meeting not only symbolised their renewed commitment to the party, it also sent a strong signal to members of the public that PDP governors are ready to lead the way in forging unity — as we march forward to rescue Nigeria.
“Compared to what we had just a few months ago, our Governors are now leading the way towards rebuilding and repositioning the party.
“It is also truly exhilarating that the feedback that I am getting from people across the country about yesterday’s PDP Governors’ meeting shows that their actions have further energised the party and given hope to millions of our party’s men and women — as well as those who are not even PDP members.
“As we move forward, Your Excellencies, I urge you to sustain this momentum”.
