Osun Customary Court of Appeal gets new president

The Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has appointed Justice Wasiu Akanbi, as the new President of the Osun Customary Court of Appeal.

The governor on Thursday forwarded Justice Wasiu‘s name to the state assembly for ratification.

During plenary, the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Timothy Owoeye who read the governor‘s letter to the house, said, the appointment was based on the recommendation of National Judicial Council.

The speaker, who asked the appointee to submit 35 copies of his curriculum vitae (CV) to the Assembly between Thursday and Monday also said the ratification was in accordance with section 28 (1) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (amended) Constitution.

Owoeye also asked the appointee to appear before the House on Tuesday, Feb.2, for screening.
