Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has urged the state Police Command and other security agencies to ensure that killers of Dr Karl Kwaghger, an Associate Professor of Engineering are apprehended for prosecution.
AFRIPOST reports that the lecturer in Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi was on Saturday stabbed to death by unknown armed men.
In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Terver Akase, the governor condemned the murder which occurred in Makurdi on Saturday evening and describes it as unacceptable.
He called for thorough investigation into the incident and reaffirmed the resolve of his administration to sustain the fight against crime in all its ramifications.
Governor Ortom consoled family of the deceased, assuring them that those behind the killing of their son, husband and father would be brought to justice.
He prayed God to grant the slain university lecturer eternal rest.
