The management of Benue State University Makurdi, BSUM has directed all workers in the institution to resume on Monday, September 21.

Recall that all activities in the school came to an abrupt closure in March as a bid to curb spread of the global pandemic (COVID-19) in the state.

However, in line with the state government’s directive that all schools within the state should resume Monday, the school management has also asked its workers to fully resume duty on the above date.

The management made the announcement in a Press statement signed by the school Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr. Mrs. Mfaga Modom.

The statement urged students to remain at alert as resumption date would be communicated after the school Senate have met to decide on new academic calendar.

The statement reads: “Resumption Of Work By Staff Of Benue State University

“In compliance with this directive, all staff of Benue State University are hereby directed to resume work fully as from Monday, 21st September, 2020.

“Staff are to note that they are expected to comply strictly with COVID-19 protocols namely; wearing of facial masks, regular hand washing with soap, use of hand sanitizers and maintenance of social distancing.

“All students of the university are to note that a resumption date will be announced for students as soon as Senate of the University meets and decides on a resumption date.

“Parents, guardians and the general public are kindly expected to note this development, please”.
