A Grade I Area Court, Kubwa, FCT., on Thursday sentenced a 27-year-old security guard, Gabriel Odah, to two months in correctional centre for stealing a bluetooth device.
Odah of Saburi, Dei-dei, Abuja who had pleaded guilty to criminal trespass and theft, begged the court to temper justice with mercy.
The Judge, Muhammad Adamu, however gave Odah an option of one day community service and warned him to desist from committing crimes and be of good behaviour.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Babajide Olanipekun, told the court that the complainant, Adegoroye Temidayo, reported the matter at Kubwa Police Station on Aug.
Olanipekun said Odah criminally entered the complainant’s shop at FAX Supermarket, Kubwa on the said date and stole his bluetooth device valued at N14, 400.
The prosecution counsel said that during police investigation, the bluetooth was recovered from the convict.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 342 and 287 of the Penal Code.
