Father of Kwara Governor, and the first lawyer in the northern part of Nugeria Alh. Abdulganiyu Folorunsho Abdulrasaq is dead.
He died in the early hours of Saturday in Lagos less than four months to his 93rd birthday.
He was Nigeria’s Ambassador to Cote d’Ivoior and the first Commissioner of Finance for Kwara State after the state was created in 1967.
He was President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange from 2000 – 2003 and Vice-President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange from 1983 – 2000
He is survived by his wife; Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq; Dr. Alimi Abdulrasaq, a former Executive Director of NNPC; Isiaka Abdulrasaq; Sen. Khairat Gwadabe and a former First Lady of Kwara State, Hajiya Aishat Lawal.
Arrangements are being made to fly his corpse to Ilorin for burial later today.
