A lawmaker in Cross River State assembly, Godwin Akwaji, is dead.
The deceased who was said to have died of COVID-19 symptoms, represented Obudu constituency at the House of Assembly.
Akwaji died Thursday afternoon at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) Isolation Centre.
He was said to be diabetic and exhibited fatigue, fever, cough and breathlessness.
However, the state government has repeatedly claimed that the it is free of coronavirus.
