Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has congratulated Professor Innocent Ujah over his appointment as Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo.
Ortom sent the congratulatory message on Monday via a statement signed and made available to AFRIPOST by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase.
According to the statement, the Governor appreciates and commends President Muhammadu Buhari for the establishment of the University of Health Sciences in the State and for appointing Professor Ujah, an experienced professional and administrator as the institution’s pioneer Vice Chancellor.
He says with Professor Ujah’s vast experience which has seen him occupy a number of key positions such as Director-General, Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), National Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Committee on HIV/AIDS, he will no doubt place the new university on the path of academic excellence.
Ortom also assured Benue people that the state Government will provide the needed support and cooperation for the smooth take-off of the Federal University of Health Sciences.
The Governor restates his earlier promise to upgrade facilities at the General Hospital Otukpo before its conversion to a University Teaching Hospital.
