Insurgency: Gov Ortom calls for 30 days fasting to tackle herdsmen attack

Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue has called on residents to embark on 30 days fasting and prayers as a spiritual battle against the herdsmen attack in the state.

The governor made the call on Thursday during his 59th birthday celebration in Makurdi the state capital

Ortom, who lamented the recent killings in the state occasion by the herdsmen insurgents, charged all residents to seek God’s intervention.

He, however, promised good governance in the state adding that the grace of God has singled him from his equals to be the governor and as a result, owes Benue people ‘a great deal’.

“You voted for me in 2015 and again you returned me in 2019. I owe you a great deal, I will continue to work hard to provide good governance”.
