Senator representing Plateau North Senatorial District, Istifanus Gyang has announced readiness to distribute food items to his constituents as a measure to alleviate sufferings imposed on them via the lockdown order.
Recalled that the state government, on Monday, announced a total lockdown starting from Thursday in order to curb the spread of COVID-19.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Protocol, Mr Musa Ashoms, the Senator said the distribution will kick off on Wednesday.
“The food aid targets widows, orphans, persons living with disabilities and youths.
“The food items shall be distributed simultaneously in all the six local government areas of Plateau North on Wednesday, April 8, 2020,” he said.
Gyang advised all citizens to adhere to the safety measures put in place by the government which include; regular hand washing or use of alcoholic base sanitizer, social distancing and above all, staying at home.
He added that God’s mercy would help the nation overcome the battle against COVID-19.
