COVID-19: Death toll in Africa rises to 383 as cases jump to 8,596

According to The World Health Organisation (WHO), Africa has recorded 383 death from the COVID-19 while confirmed cases jumped beyond 8, 596.

This was confirmed by the WHO Regional Office for Africa in Brazzaville

“Africa now has a total of 8,596 confirmed cases, 383 deaths and 792 recovered from 51 Countries.

“Number of cases continue to rise on the African continent with 8,377 cumulative cases reported.

“Algeria and Cameroon have reported a sharp case increase in past 24 hours,’’ the tweet read.

Nigeria as at 11: pm on Sunday have 232 cases with 5 death, and 33 recovered and discharged.

However, South Africa has the highest figure in the Continent with 1, 585 cases and 9 death.
