Dapchi Schoolgirls’ Two Years Anniversary: Buhari Remembers Leah Sharibu

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday made remembrance of  Leah Sharibu after  two years in captivity.

Leah Sharibu is one of the Dapchi schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram February 19 2018.

In a statement signed by himself, Buhari made a flashback on the incident saying that exactly two years ago, 110 innocent children were forcefully taken away by the Boko Haram insurgents.

Recall that 110 schoolgirls aged 11-19 years old were kidnapped by the Boko Haram terrorist group from the Government Girls’ Science and Technical College [GGSTC] Dapchi, Yunusari local government area, Yobe State.

However, About 107 survived the ordeal exception of Leah Sharibu who was withheld for not renouncing her Christian faith.

President Buhari in the anniversary message, said that no person has the right to force another to change their faith against their will and that all life is sacred.

He also vowed that his government will continue to seek ways to secure the release of all children and captives of terrorists.

In his statement,” As we redouble our efforts for Leah’s return, we can never allow the terrorists to divide us – Christian against Muslim, Muslim against Christian. We are all Sons of Abraham. And all Nigerians have the same worth and rights before the law, and before God”.
