Must read

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested some of the gunmen who invaded a police checkpoint in Ogwashi-Uku Community and stabbed to death an Inspector, the Commissioner of Police for the State Command, Mr. Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa has announced.

Gunmen attacked policemen on a routine “Stop and search” duty along Obasanjo Farms in Ogwashi-Uku Community on Thursday, January 23, during which a police Inspector was stabbed to death and some others were inflicted with bodily injuries.

But the Commissioner of Police, while confirming the attack on Saturday stated that some of those responsible for the attack, are presently in police net.

“We have got about two of them already and we are making progress on how to get the remaining people.

“You know, our men were attacked two days ago. But as God may have it, we are making progress. Those responsible for the attack, we have gotten about two of them already and we are making progress on how to get the remaining people.

“They stabbed an Inspector and he is late now. But we have started cracking down on them. In fact, to be honest with you, we have gotten two out of those who perpetrated the acts. We are just making efforts to round all of them,” the CP stated in a telephone chat with our correspondent in Warri.
