A cross section of Nigerians have commended the Korean Cultural Centre in Nigeria (KCCN) for boosting cultural interaction between Korea and Nigeria through Korean Cultural Festival and movie premiere.
Some Nigerians who spoke to News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday Night at the sideline of the Korean movie show to commemorate the bimonthly Korean Cultural Festival described the movie as interesting.
It was revealed that the movie `Architecture 101’ is a Korean movie that showcase the typical Korean style of architecture side by side romantic scenes.
The story starts when Seo-yeon (Han Ga-in) who is the architect and Seung-min’s (Eom Tae-woong) first love in University, comes to him and asks him to re-build her old house.
Mr Peter Tsaku, a civil servant said it was his seventh time of attending the Korean Cultural festival where Korean movies where shown to Nigerians.
He observed that the bimonthly Korean Cultural Festival H has boosted the cultural interaction between Nigerians and Korean.
“In some of the festival, they teach how to cook Korean dishes: tonight is Korean movie, `Architecture 101’; it has really help enlightened us about Korean, their architecture and other things.
“I want to commend the KKCN for this wonderful opportunity to learn a lot from Koreans.
These can facilitate and boost relationship between us and them, for instance we can emulate their architecture design.
“I also believe that with the KCCN involving Nigerians in their drawing and poetry competitions, we can continue having a good relationship with them,’’ Tsaku said.
Also, Miss Blessing Bature, a student of Theater Art at the University of Abuja said the Korean movie, `Architecture 101’ was interesting.
According to her, the scenes, flashbacks, camera movement and picture quality was commendable.
“I think we have a lot to learn from Korean movies; thanks to KKCN for giving us the opportunity to watch and be watching their kind of movies for free; we will rally help us to blend.
“But I also want our movies to find their way to Korea to strike a balance. This will eventually enhance collaboration between Nollywood and Korea Movie industry.
“For KKCN to show us their movie here in Nigeria for free is commendable,’’ Bature said.
Also speaking, the outgoing Director of KKCN, Mr Han Sungrae said he was happy working in Nigeria to boost cultural relationship between the two countries.
“I have finished my mission in Nigeria successfully; I have also learnt a lot of things about Nigeria and her beautiful people.
“We have been showcasing Korean movies to Nigerians during our bimonthly cultural festival; sometimes we showcase fashion, styles and foods.
“We have done a lot of cultural exchange programs to the benefit of both countries; we shall continue to do more. I am not leaving Nigeria forever; we shall meet again.
“My successor is a younger person and I urge you to give him the needed support; you will enjoy him no doubt,’’ Sungrae said
