The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Mrs Ndidi Ukoha, had earlier told the court that Jibrin Bakari, Chairman of Angwan Gboko, reported the matter at the Lugbe Police Station on Dec. 12, 2018.

Ukoha further said the accused persons and others now at large, criminally conspired, armed with cutlasses and sticks, entered Angwan Gboko, destroyed properties and beat up people on the street.

She said the accused inflicted injury on Baba Nihi of KYE Estate who is now receiving treatment at home.

According to the prosecutor, the accused person also stole an Itel brand of mobile phone belonging to Ibrahim Abdullahi.

The prosecutor further said the cell phone was recovered from Edwin during investigation.

Ukoha said the offences contravened the provisions of sections 97, 287, 247 and 113 of the Penal Code.

The Magistrate, Mr Samuel Idhiarhi, granted bail to the accused persons in the sum of N200, 000 with a surety each who must reside in the FCT with a credible source of income.
