Owukpa Development Association, ODA, Abuja branch central body will on Saturday celebrate Owukpa Day tagged “Owukpa Day/Award Night/ N100m Appeal Fund For ODA Hall,” in Abuja.
Owukpa community is one of the three districts in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State with unique preserved cultural values and traditions.
Afri Post recalls that the ODA, Abuja branch started at the late elder Ajunwa’s residence on March 8, 2008 under the pioneer chairmanship of Mr Joshua Akor Ichima and it has since spread across all the Area Councils of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The custodian of the Owukpa cultures and traditions, ‘Onomo’, Chief Emanuel Odeh and other illustrious sons and daughters of Akatekwe from all walks of life are expected to grace the 3-in-1 event and will receive awards of different categories. This will culminate into a selfless contribution towards the building of ODA hall in Abuja.
The 3-in-1 event will witness a special ‘Owukpa Day’ where its rich cultures and traditions will be displayed; Awards night where well-deserved sons and daughters of Owukpa will be recognized for their contributions to the development of the community and, of course, an appeal fund for the building of a befitting ODA hall in Abuja.
Those that made the award list are Chief Matthias Abutu, Barr. Boniface Apochi, Hon. Joseph Ojobo, Chief Godwin Adikwu, Barr. Dr Musa Omale, Compt. Michael Agbara, Chief Abah John, Egnr Mayas Adoyi, Mr Dannis E. Omeliko, Egnr Sylvanus Attu Ugwu, Mr.Francis Akor Agada, Mr James Abakpa, Chief Paulinus Igba, Owukpa Contact Group, Mr Gabriel Agene, Mr Akor Joshua Ichima, Mr Onoja John Edache, Mr Jerome Ameh, Comrade Edeh E. Ben, Mr John Apochi.
