Bauchi Government Settles Scholarship Students’ Outstanding Fees In Igbinedion University

Must read

The executive governor of Bauchi State, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar has recently settled the outstanding tuition fees and stipends by 30% and 50% respectively for the State’s sponsored undergraduates studying science courses in Igbinedion University, Okada in Edo State.

The University graduated 52 out of the 86 students under the Bauchi state government scholarship undergoing courses in Pharmacy, Medical laboratory science, Nursing, Engineering and other science courses in the University.

LEADERSHIP recalls that, in August 2018, the 52 students under the Bauchi State Special Sponsorship Scheme lamented the government’s refusal to pay their tuition fees for two consecutive sessions, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017.

Confirming Gov Abubakar-led government’s positive response to the students’ appeal for the settlement of their outstanding tuition fees, President of Bauchi State Students, Igbinedion University, Okada Chapter, Muhammad Umar, on behalf of the students, commended the effort of the state government for restoring their hope.

In his words, “We, the students of Igbinedion University, Okada sponsored by Bauchi state government hereby appreciate the effort of the state government in settling our outstanding fees. This is, indeed, a giant stride made by the administration of His Excellency, the governor of Bauchi state, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar. This, among other commendable projects embarked by the present administration has shown that the welfare of the masses is the governor’s priority.

“Also worthy of our appreciation and commendation are the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Prof. Danwanka, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and the Director, Higher Education for their contributions in the payment of our outstanding fees and monthly stipends.

“We will continue to be of good character, disciplined and patriotic wherever we find ourselves as good ambassadors of Bauchi State.

“Interestingly, we like to inform His Excellency and the good people of Bauchi state that we now have graduates from Pharmacy, Medical laboratory science, Nursing, Engineering and other science courses”.

Umar, however, used the occasion to further appeal to the state government on prompt payment of the remaining tuition fees and the students stipends. “We therefore want to use this opportunity to call on the government to finish the good work they initiated by completing the remaining 70% and 50% installments respectively.”
