President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday ordered for the cancellation of the controversial tenure elongation for the All Progressive Congress, APC, National Working Committee (NWC) members.
The APC had in its NEC meeting on February 28 extended the tenure of members of National Working Committee (NWC) led by John Odigie-Oyegun by one year.
But speaking shortly before the commencement of NEC meeting Tuesday, Buhari told the party leadership to consider cancelling the tenure extension decision because “it is against the party and the Nigerian constitution.”
Buhari said he took the decision based on advice from his Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami,
