In desperation for second term, President Muhammadu Buhari has finally arrived Makurdi, the Benue State capital after much criticism for his official visit to the State.
This is the first time the President would visit the nation’s acclaimed food basket since assuming power in 2015 despite all the Fulani Herdsmen killings in the state.
The presidential jet touched down at the Makurdi Air Force base at about 11:am.
The president was accompanied by some ministers, aides and other governors.
President Buhari will during the trip pay a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Benue State Council of Chiefs, Tor Tiv the fifth, Professor James Ayatse.
He will later hold a meeting with major stakeholders at the Benue Peoples House in Makurdi, from whence he will proceed to one of the eight displaced persons’ camps in the state.
