Another 167 Nigerians Return From Libya

Another set of 167 Nigerian migrants were repatriated from Libya on Monday, bringing the total number of Nigerians brought back to the country in the last four days to 532.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Monday received the Libya returnees. ‎

They comprised 21 adult females, 145 adult males and one child.

The returnees arrived Lagos with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with Registration Number 5A-DMH at 7:47 p.m Monday.

They were assisted back to Nigeria by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the European Union (EU).

The Director-General of NEMA, Alhaji Mustapha Maihajja, who received the returnees, confirmed that three of them had medical cases and were promptly given treatment by doctors and paramedics.

Maihajja, who was represented by the Southwest Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Alhaji Suleiman Yakubu advised the returnees to acquire vocational skills or further their education to contribute their quota to national development.

Other agencies that joined NEMA in receiving them were officials of Nigerian Immigration Service, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and the Police.
