Wife to Nigeria’s music icon, 2baba, Mrs Annie Idibia says she is celebrating her birthday with the commencement of an empowerment training programme for 1000 youths from across the country.
She said this during a press conference recently in Abuja to mark the commencement of the training programme for 1000 youths.
“This is Annie Idibia Care Foundation, also known as Aicare Foundation’s free empowerment training for 1000 youths in Abuja.
“We have 15 skills and over 20 facilitators who are professionals. This training will last for six days from 8.30am to 5pm every day.
“The classes include Fashion, pastry, photography, cinematography, make up and many others. And every participant has opportunity to take part in two classes,” she said.
Idibia, who is also a model and actress, said the foundation was founded last year.
According to her, she always threw parties on her birthday, but last year she decided to do something different.
“I feel that God has blessed me so much, so I decided that every year by God’s grace, I will celebrate my birthday with 1000 youths and women.
“This is just a little way to give back to you guys for all your love and support given to me. So, this is a special thank you. My husband has been supporting me all the way.
“The aim is to reach out to the youths in the country. Last year, we did it with 1000 youths in Lagos and another 1000 in Akwa Ibom.
“This year, we decided to bring it to Abuja; the next city will be Makurdi. Next year, we will go to other cities in the country and by the grace of God, we will gradually cover all the states.
“At the end of the training, we will get the best in each class and get them start kits,” she said.
On the selection process, the talented actress said application was open to all youths adding that the first 1000 to apply were picked for the programme.
Also speaking, Innocent Idibia, known as 2baba, commended his wife for the initiative adding that it is an opportunity for young people to acquire skills and better their lives.
He also urged other celebrities in the country to emulate the laudable programmes of Aicare Foundation to help other youths in the country.
“If other people will do same, a lot of youths will benefit and the number will increase to over three thousand.”
