United States Consul-general to Nigeria, Mr John Bray has led a team of US elections observers to monitor preparations and to kick-start the US reconnaissance ahead of the November 18 governorship election in Anambra State.
Chief Executive Officer, Stanel Group, Mr Stanley Uzochukwu heartily welcomed the US team to Anambra in a dinner party in their honour at Stanel World, Awka where the US Consul-General, Bray, highly rated the facility saying, it has presented Anambra State a shining example of a high speed developing state in Nigeria.
Stanel Luxury Mega Centre (Stanel World) in Awka is one of the investments attracted by the Gov Obiano led administration and it has been described since its official take off as the first luxury centre of its kind in the entire Eastern Region of Nigeria.
Bray impressively noted that the state of the art facility he has seen and enjoyed in the Stanel World, can be compared to what are obtainable in developed cities of the world while one of his team members said they were, indeed, in America at Stanel World.
He however urged the government of Anambra State to do more in the area of providing more incentives that will encourage both international and local investors to seek business opportunities in the state.
Also speaking, the Political and Economic Section Chief of the United States Consular Office in Nigeria, Mr Osman Tat said the integrated Stanel facility attracted by the present administration is a good example of public-private partnership and a model worthy of replication across the country.
In his remark, the Chairman of Stanel Goup, Mr Stanley Uzochukwu who hosted the Consul General and his team in the dinner banquet emphasized that a major motivation for him to bring his wealth into the state was the conducive business environment put in place by Governor Obiano.
Uzochukwu assured that the management of Stanel Group will ensure that the facility is extended to other major cities of the state as soon as possible.
One of the highlights of the dinner party included cultural displays by a cultural troupe from the state where Bray and other guests in attendance were greatly entertained.
