Biafra: I Won’t Allow Trouble-Makers In Rivers – Wike Speaks Tough

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has warned that he would not allow any group “intimidate, harass or attack other Nigerians” resident in his state.

Wike issued the warning while declaring that he would never support any move that will lead to the breakup of Nigeria.

The governor made these remarks when he hosted Northern governors’ forum, who paid him a visit on Monday.

According to Wike, “Rivers state believes in the unity of this country. Rivers state will not be a part of those calling for the disintegration of Nigeria. We owe it a duty to protect every Nigerian living in the state.

I will not allow any group to intimidate, harass or attack other Nigerians living in the state. We are Rivers people and we belong to the Niger Delta.”

Urging aggrieved Nigerians to dialogue in the interest of peace and development, Wike said, “I am not against anyone who wants to protest any grievance but, there are channels for such protests”.

Following attacks on the Hausa community at Oyigbo Local Government area of the state by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, the governor had last week warned the group to steer clear of the state.
