Boko Haram: Army Commissions 2000 Men To Capture Shekau Dead Or Alive

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday, formerly launched manhunt for Boko Haram leader, Sheikh Abubakar Shekau.

The formal launch is coming 18 days after the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai gave the order to capture Shekau dead or alive in 40days.

The Theatre Commander, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru re-issued the order while addressing over 2,000 special forces with code name “MSTs”, mobile strike teams.

Speaking during the commissioning of the strike teams, General Attahiru said, “These specially selected forces marked equipment and platform are to achieve the conduct of long range patrols and ambushes deep into the hinterland.

” All these are in an effort to ensure the success of Operation Lafiya Dole, thereby, enhancing our operational efficiency. As you look forward to being deployed, I want to remind you that, success in battle revolves around discipline, intelligence, self confidence, and ruthless determination to success.

” One reason for this is because our primary task of waging war remains an intensify human endeavour. Moreover, combat demands that soldiers put their lives at risk, a situation that makes them acutely aware that, its handling requires zero defect. This is one reason why every fighting force must be discipline, focused and determined.

“You must therefore, understand that your effectiveness is the foundation upon which our tactical and operational endstate will depend upon. Your training at the Nigerian Army Training School has given you the impetus to outstanding performance.”

While wishing them a successful outing and God’s guidance, General Attahiru also added, “Always remember that, your outing is also a service to humanity and our great nation. Go, capture the bagger.”
