The All Progressives Congress (APC), Enugu State chapter, yesterday, said it would use the forthcoming local government elections to test its strength in Enugu State even as it restated that the party was ready to win the governorship election in 2019
Chairman of the party in the state, Dr Ben Nwoye stated this yesterday during a media briefing by the members of APC Local Government Congresses Appeal Committee led by chairman of the committee, Barrister Ali Nyelong at the party’s secretariat in Enugu.
Nwoye, who claimed that the party was rooted in all the wards and local government areas of Enugu State, said the party was ready to participate in the local government election anytime the relevant authorities decide to organize the election.
He used the opportunity to thank stakeholders and supporters of the
party for the successful congress that took place in all the local government areas of the state recently, saying that the congresses were peaceful.
While describing APC as a party of due process, he boasted that the party has come to stay in Enugu State, adding that the party was well rooted in all the wards of the state and was ready to test its strength.
Earlier, the chairman of the Local Government Congress Appeal Committee for Enugu State, Nyelong had disclosed that they were in Enugu State to attend to any matter arising from aggrieved members of the party.
He, however, disclosed that so far , they were yet to receive any appeal as at last Monday, adding that everything was in order since their arrival and pledged the commitment of the committee to listen to all complaints.
