Bauchi Good Governance and Integrity Group (BAGGIG) has lauded Governor MuhammedAbdullahiAbubakar of Bauchi State for the payment ofbacklog of salary his administration inherited from the Isa Yuguda’s administration.
The group through its chairman, Comrade Sani Musa Misau while reacting to the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) revelations that, over 23 states of the federation currently owe local government workers arrears of salaries ranging from one to 16 months said, in Bauchi State due to his commitment to the workers’ welfare and wellbeing of the citizenry, Governor Abubakar had as matter of priority, judiciously paid all the accrued debts owed the local government staff in the state.
While addressing newsmen in Abuja, Sani said, he was not surprised that BauchiState made the list of the states that don’t owe workers’ salaries because of the governor’s commitment to the welfare of the civil servants in the state.
He said apart from prompt payment of salaries, despite the paucity of funds, Abubakar’s administration has embarked on the execution of various projects in the state which have direct bearing on the lives of the people of Bauchi State.
