Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane has noted that forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s value goes beyond his prolific goal scoring.
The Portugal captain netted twice in Real’s 4-1 victory over Sevilla on Sunday to take his tally to 401 goals with the Spanish giants.
Zidane told reporters, “More than the goal itself, it’s what he’s done so far. In the decisive moments, he’s always there.”
Real Madrid are level on points with Barcelona, but with a game in hand in the race to clinch the title.
Barcelona cruised to a 4-1 victory at Las Palmas in a simultaneous game on Sunday to mount pressure on Zidane’s side.
The 32-year-old Portugal captain has scored 37 goals in all competitions this season, and netted Real’s second and third goals against Sevilla.
Zidane added, “He’s just got something, he’s different.
“It’s a very good pass from [Toni] Kroos, and there’s a gap and he puts it in [for his second goal].
Real Madrid will be up against Celta Vigo on Wednesday who were knocked out of the Europa League semifinals by Manchester United last week.
Victory against Celta, and at Malaga next Sunday, will automatically see Real win a first title in five years irrespective of Barcelona’s final two results.
