The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has cautioned former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri over his antagonistic comments against President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.
EFCC made the remark while reacting to a comment by Omokri, saying “Ghost President, with ghost achievements fighting ghost workers with an EFCC that goes after his ghost monies in apartments owned by ghosts.”
Omokri, a United State based Pastor has remained one of the fierce critics of the current administration.
Reacting to the comment, the anti-graft agency noted that Omokri could be President someday and so he should respect those ahead of him.
In a tweet on its twitter handle, on Thursday, the anti-graft agency noted that while Omokri is entitled to his opinion and could criticize the government’s policies, he should note that the least the president of any country deserves is respect of its citizens.
The tweet reads, “Reno it’s your prerogative to disagree with a public official, an institution or even the President but that office must be respected.
“You may find yourself in that position someday and the least you would expect of anybody is respect.”
